Adriana Vitoria

A native of Minas Gerais by birth and Rio de Janeiro at heart—as well as a dancer, singer, radio actress, visual artist, columnist, writer, and surface designer—the self-taught Adriana Vitória was just six months old when her family moved from Belo Horizonte to Rio de Janeiro. She began her artistic education at a young age; she studied dance between 1974 and 1981, dedicated herself to vocal technique studies from 1982 to 1986, and qualified as a socio-cultural activities coordinator in 1987.

She danced, sang, studied languages, and became a professional event organizer; driven by a thirst to broaden her horizons, she set out to explore the world.

She lived in England, Italy, France, Portugal, and the United States. Having grown up amidst nature in the mountains of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, and harboring a lifelong passion for the Atlantic Forest and diverse indigenous cultures around the globe, she sought ways to care for and speak about the Earth and the unique beings that inhabit it.

In 1990, she discovered the arts of writing, drawing, and illustration. From that point on, she began creating and licensing various artistic works, columns, fabric prints, and products for stores, NGOs, and companies. In 2016, at the invitation of the then-design director of the MAM (Museum of Modern Art), she held an exhibition of her surface designs at the museum’s shop, *Novo Desenho*, in Rio de Janeiro. Subsequently, products featuring her art remained on permanent display and sale at the museum shops of both the MAM and the MAR (Museum of Art of Rio) in Rio de Janeiro until 2022.

In 2023, she launched her first art book, *Cunhãs a Cia da Terra*, featuring texts on the importance of environmental conservation; the book is available for purchase at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden shop and on her website.

She is currently working on a new book and creating new products and art reproductions.
